…忘記了忽然一周年…

一年前的今天看見你, 有一種特別的, 滿有熱誠的感覺,  因為, 那是我的第一天.

一年後的今天再看見你, 我少了那一份衝動, 有時候還有怨言,

…但求回家總可以 忘記你盡努力睡眠…

甚至寧願窩在床上, 不想再到你那兒. 是我對你困倦了嗎?

…全世界甚麼都痴纏 我卻未脫險…

我還未中彩票, 還要為自己的基本生活打拼, 討三餐一宿.

…我可以 天天都不見…

真的可以? …當然不可隨口說辭.

既然還要繼續幹,請給我一點火, 加一把勁, 燃起我的力量.

為我打氣! 因為即使是今天是一周年, 明天還是要繼續上班的.

You may think you are thinking; you may think you are making your own decision; but you are merely recollecting past experiences and predisposition of thoughts. Just another reason why free will and predestiny can co-exist. The more I learn about the mind (from some psychological readings), the more I realize that our brains do not invent anything, it just recollects and rearranges previous memories. An example would be, you cannot imagine a color that you have never seen, say infrared. Our brain is also incapable of visualizing a world with more than three spatial dimensions, just becasue we had no previous experience of it.

For so long a time I had not entered my blog, I almost forgot its password. At times, I feel I am obligated to put new stuff on for my "visitors"; but realistically, how many hits do my blog pages get? Probably 5 visits per month, and the visitors are all "me". To find out the truth, I signed up for Google Analytics, a power tool for analysing visitors, page hits and all those good stuffs for webmasters. In my opinion, it is too powerful, since there are so many advance features that I don’t even know what they are there for.

Assuming the Google Analytics thing is doing what it is supposed to do, i.e. tracking visitors’ stats, then there are more unexpected visitors than I could ever imagine! I would never expect somebody in Jerusalem would found my blog!!

# of pageviews: 160
Most visitors in a day: Aug 13, with 8 visits
# of returning visits: 29 (37%)

This is the reality, people visit my site only becasue they need to know what my friends’ websites URL are. That’s like people calling you only to find out so and so’s telephone number. Harsh as it is, I can live with it.

2. Blog entry: 剌激2005-06
Obviously this is where the Jerusalem visitor came from (and all the others like New Zealand, UK and Taiwan). I believed they landed up on my page simply because they are searching for the lyrics of the song 剌激2005 or the artist 趙英俊, and this is probably the only reason why I have more than 20 visitors in a month!

3. Home
Come on, if people doesn’t even read the home page, that’s probably no point in running this blog anymore.

4. Category: Entertainment
Bored surfers expecting to find some fun here, just because they see the word "entertainment"? They need to get a life.

5. Category: Ick’s pick
Mystery and curiosity works. Just because people don’t exactly know what the link is leading them to, or especially if you don’t want them to know right away, they will want to find out.

Interesting? Ya.. it is interesting to see 78 people in August visited an essential dead blog that has no update whatsoever. Well, at least, no updates until today. And to those visitors who returns, a big thanks to you.

Am I obligated? 

谷歌 - 有那首流行曲不是"谷"出來的 ? 谷歌不就是這個意思嗎?

但是谷歌還有別的意思,, 例如是一個搜索引擎的中文名..第一次看到這個Google的中文名..有點怪, 心想, Google 幹嗎叫作 什麼歌.. 和歌曲又有什麼關係?但是看了這一篇"谷歌-誕生背后的故事", 才發現這個名字背後的理念是多麼深遠. 緃使有很多比谷歌更好更親切的名字,但是 Gu ge 還不錯 , 反正 Google 就是Google ,多了一個中文名字也多一份優勢.

Philosophers, theologists and biologists probably asked and tried to answer this question most often: what is the purpose of our survival? or simply why do we live?

This strange question seeped into my head. And I got stuck in a “loop” when I try to address it from the biological view. My logic flows as follows:

The most important role a living organism perform during its life is reproducing.

Ok. So We live (or survive) so that we can reproduce.
But why? So that the species can continue.
Continue what? Continue to suvive.
Survive? Survive in order to reproduce?

So it becomes survive -> reproduce -> offspring grows -> reproduce -> more offsprings -> … which doesn’t seem to lead anywhere.

Let me know if you have a better answer.
