I have spent another $10 watching a movie that I never intended to watch on the big screen.
War of the Worlds is a movie adapted from the book written by H.G. Wells. As much as I like science fictions and the fact that H.G. Wells is one of the few authors by which I have read books, I never have the desire to watch the movie. Why not? Don’t ask, I don’t have an answer.
Today I was eating dinner at Peel Pub with Michael, Kelvin, Ivan, Maggie, Sara and Basemah. To comment, I can only say that it was a combination of the worst food (french fries deep-fried in grease that had been used for the past ten years), big portion, good service, and a reasonable price. After the dinner, we had nothing to do, as usual. And someone suggested “movie”. And so we went.
Watched the 10:20pm show. As for this movie, I will rate it 6 out of 10, given a generic storyline, a quite unexpected ending, plus the fact it was directed by Steven Spielberg, which automatically raise the score by 1. However, I still won’t recommend watching this movie in the theatre, as it is not worth the money. Wait for DVD rental.
After the movie, I walked home. Got home just now, or 1:00 am. My computer still have not finished transcoding the DVD videos that started 9 hrs ago. That’s uncool….
